Ice skating
Even if Lake Millstättersee doesn't always freeze over, the smaller lakes in the area offer a beautiful backdrop for ice skating. The exhilaration of speeding across such a massive expanse of ice is incomparable.

Cross-country skiing
When Brigitte is not on the Fun Slope teaching the munchkins how to ski, or teaching the grown-ups the "Five Tibetans", she'll be glad to take you out cross-country skiing. Spending half a day gliding down the snowy slopes of the mountain valley in Schönfeld is sure to be the high point of your winter vacation at the Family Hotel Post.
Skiing
A large number of first-rate ski areas are within a 35-minute drive from our hotel. The Goldeck-Millstättersee ski area is very close by – in just 15 minutes, you'll be on your way up the mountain in the gondola. Our combination ski pass means that you can enjoy all of the region's ski areas at a reasonable price.

Snowshoeing
The matron of the hotel, Mrs. Sichrowsky, is an avid back-country skier and hiker. She'll be glad to take you on a similar kind of adventure – in pristine nature, on untouched, snow-covered mountain meadows – with snowshoes, which is far less strenuous. With some basic instruction, anyone can come along and enjoy a snowshoe outing. Try it!
 Sledding
A few of the mountain lodges are also open in the winter, and you can get there by hiking up the last stretch or by taking a special taxi to the lodge.
As always, getting down the mountain is easier – and a lot of fun on a sled. We also organize a special weekly sledding event.
 Horse-drawn sleigh rides
Those who want a more relaxed experience can take a horse-drawn sleigh ride up to the mountain lodges. Accompanied by our child attendants, both young and old can come along for a great time.
 Ski routes for beginners
Become acquainted with the feeling of the boundless liberty. With an examined ski route leader you have the possibility low-snow-covered mountains and slopes perhaps to the first to experience times.

Curling
When it's cold enough, there's a small ice rink directly behind the hotel – big enough to host fun curling tournaments, where the hot mulled cider and friendly competition always keep people warm.
